What to feed dog recovering from vestibuler disease

On April 24th my mixed breed dog got what I have learned to be vestibular disease. She has made a steady recovery and can walk pretty well now. She still does not have much of an appetite.

What is the best thing to feed a dog recovering from vestibular disease? Her normal food is Eukanuba Large Breed. Today I gave her chicken and it seems to have gone well. I gave it to her boiled so that it would be bland.

    Thanks

I would go with premade raw. If that isn't available, I would go with canned. From the little bit of reading I did, it seems like they don't drink much when they get vestibular, so it's important to get that moisture in their food.

I agree the prefrozen raw sounds good, or a good quality canned will be sufficient... like Wellness or Innova wet.... Wellness will give you more flavors to give some variety tho.

After reading a lot about raw feeding on this board, I just gave her raw chicken today instead of boiling it.

Can I simply change her diet from dry food to premade raw or canned or should it be done gradually? She still hasn't touched her Eukanuba dry food much since the incident

Keep in mind the reason I said premade raw is because the manufacturers of premade raw create foods that are a balanced diet. Feeding your dog just chicken for a day or two is fine, but it's not something you can do for a long period of time.

As far as changing her diet, raw and canned is easier to digest so you shouldn't have too much of a problem, but it is possible. Just keep an eye on her.
