    Timberwolf Organics Supplement

This is new to the website... what do you all think?

Wild Elements G/C is high in amino acids, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, digestive enzymes & phyto nutrients with Glucosomine. It is perfect for dogs that exhibit food or inhalant allergies by licking or scratching or other signs of dermatologic inflammatory disease. Also aids digestion, relieves stress, improves general condition and pigmentation of skin and coat, helps with dry flaky skin and promotes a healthy shine to coat. It also can be mixed with warm water to make a highly palatable gravy or just sprinkle over food. Dogs love the taste. We use no molasses or other sugars to increase palatability.

Ok, let me clarify my question, what do you all think of the ingredients?

It kind of seems like they just threw a bunch of stuff together... I'm not sure I see the point of all of it, especially if their food is as good as they claim.

What do red raspberry leaves do anyway?

I think I've seen similar ingredients listed in the wide range of Solid Gold supplements available (e.g. Seameal, MSM, Bee Pollen Powder, etc.). It may be convenient for someone who just wants to use one product to supplement.

Some owners may feel their dogs may require extra supplements. I found that I needed to while feeding the Ocean Blue and Wild & Natural formulas.

Solid Gold also has a product with Red Raspberry Leaves. Details listed here:http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/products/showproduct.php?id=34&code=572

I've used it in the past.  Timberwolf used to have several powdered supplements plus different oils, even had a section of supplements for people at one point.  Dogs like the taste, but it do anything that I could tell to benefit the dogs and wasn't worth the price.

Did it ever occur to you that those of us who feed a combination of kibble and raw or homecooked might use this supplement to add to those meals to assure that our dogs are getting completely balanced nutrition ? It's no different than adding Nupro or Missing Link but has MUCH better ingredients as well as probiotics and essential nutrients some of these other formulas don't offer.

It never occured to me. I must be stupid and deficient. Bad me, bad me.

Ummm... honestly, I don't think any diet is complete, in itself. Kibble lacks enzymes contained in live foods. Kibble isn't 100% absorbable, to any animal, and neither is ANY food or supplement. You'll never know exactly WHAT they aren't absorbing, unless you have the poop analyzed. Why not add a food based supplement or something else?

OT but Kelly, I LOVE your new avatar! Boomer could be a spokes-dog for something!

Thanks [:)] We think he's pretty cute, but we're biased.

I wasn't trying to start something here. I won't use this because I don't trust Timberwolf in general. I was just wanting opinions on the ingredients... There are things in there I've never heard of and the benefits of everything aren't llisted. Didn't realize it was so similar to other supplements.

I've been stressing way too much lately over nutrition, and I'm tired of it. I don't want to spend all this time searching for 'the perfect' diet and have to add a bunch of stuff to it. But I do see what you are saying Jennie.

    I LOVE those ears

Anyway I think I have been saying all along that i do not trust ANY dog food or ANY human food to contain all the vitamins, etc that they claim. That is why my fur kids get the multivitamin, the fish oil, the EsterC, and of couse the cooked meat and veggies every day.  And that is why hubby and I take a human vitamin, the same fish oil and EsterC as the fur kids, plus we take cranberry, Fiber caps,  and Garliq.  The meat and veggies are more just because they liike them than for any added sups--except maybe for the fish.  And to be honest, I am not sure the sups are as great as they claim.

I know, I know, I don't trust this companies.  But after my sister-in-law's Phen-fen, my vioxx, and Hunter's Proheart6, i just don't trust eerything they say and advertise.
