    Worried about Daisey

I've been feeding NB and CSoup for 2 years now exclusively.  The vet just called me and said that Daisey's creatine levels are really high.  I did some research on my own and a 1.9 MAY indicate kidney failure.

I am being optimistic and praying it's not the food.  All this time I thought wet food was so much better for them.  My 3 pit bullies are being tested in the next two hours.  I am in Denver for work so I feel so damn helpless.
If their creatine levels are also high I cannot begin to tell you that my world will turn upside down.

I just lost my kitty to renal failure and it was not something I want to go through again.  Could you imagine 4 dogs in renal failure at the same time?
My other lab is ok but my GSD's blood work showed real bad liver function.
What the bloody hell is going on with my babies?  I never miss yearly vet visits, feed them what I thought was the best food, never forget to worm them, they all live in my damn house,  What more could I have done for Lord's sake?

I am sitting here just waiting for those tests results and I'm in a panick.  I don't have to work today so I'm going to the booze store and getting a pint.

I have no children and they are my life.  The vet visits with all tests and meds for 6 dogs and 1 cat costs 1000 dollars.  I'm here in Denver because I was laid off up north.

With the cats till I can make some more money I am picking 4 of them for testing.
1 old, 1 young, 1 female, 1 male.  This should give me an idea if any of the kitties are affected.  It's not perfect but with 13 cats for now that's all I can do.

    I'm scared and upset.[X(]

Oh no! I'm so sorry! If you are having issues with the recalled foods contact the manufacturers and ask them to pay for the testing. I *think* (don't quote me) they'll pay medical expenses *if* they are suffering symptoms that can be traced to the tainted food.

    Good luck!

Jesus....Rex has a creatine level of 2.0.  Rex is the little monster in my avatar.  The vet told me that in 2 weeks when they get retested if their levels continue to increase she would put them on a pres diet.  I said the hell you will.....I don't trust anything out of a can or a bag.  Raw damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry...Did you call the food company and ask about you're vet bills...damn this is so upsetting

I sure hope it is really nothing to worry about.  Ha, like we don't worry if we have any thought something is wrong or could be wrong with our fur kids.  Anway, wishing you luck for your crew of dogs and cats.

This may not be food related and 1.9 is a number that can be worked with. Wolfgang had a creantine of 2.2 in December. Through diet and supplements it was down to 1.9 in March. Our Holistic vet was very pleased with the decrease in numbers. I seriously doubt Wolfgang's was from a commercial food. He spent the first six months of his life eating nothing but bad human food and the calcium/phosphorus imbalance  damaged his kidneys.

So, for the future, the commercial diet might not be best. Here's a site that has an easy kidney friendly diet [linkhttp://www.dogaware.com/]http://www.dogaware.com/[/link], or you could opt to use a Monica Segal kidney diet. Wolfgang is also taking a supplement called Standard Process Renal Support which was recommended by the holistic vet.

Best of luck with this and don't panic yet.

I'm praying for your babies;  I can only imagine how you feel.  I know I fed Prancer 7 cans of Blue Buff before I decided to homecook and when I logged on and saw the recall today I nearly (literally) barfed.
I'll pray and pray and pray for all our babies - we really DO do what we feel is best for them - its unfair that they should suffer
