    Chicken Soup now recalled

I am so done with manufactured pet foods, I can't keep up with  the recalls. I have a blog [linkhttp://flip195.wordpress.com/]http://flip195.wordpress.com/[/link] which has lots of recipes for home made cat and dog food. I use  these recipes for my own animals  and after almost  4 weeks I am amazed  at  the changes. If your looking  for wholesome recipes for meals and treats check it out.

It's only Chicken Soup canned.  Not kibble.

Diamond Pet Foods has announced it is withdrawing a limited number of canned products manufactured by American Nutrition. This action is limited to three specific canned products: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Kitten Formula 5.5 oz. cans, and Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Puppy Formula 13 oz. cans, and Diamond Lamb & Rice Formula for Dogs 13 oz. cans.

Diamond Pet Foods has not received any indication of quality or safety issues, including pet illness, with the three withdrawn products. However, because American Nutrition informed the company that these three specific products may include rice protein concentrate, Diamond Pet Foods felt this action was necessary for the protection of its customers and their pets.

Customers with these products should stop feeding them immediately and return them to their retailer for a full refund.

Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul dry pet food and dog treats ARE NOT part of any pet food or treat recall.

If they don't use grain-based proteins in the product, no it won't be recalled.  It is pretty clear by now that grain-based proteins from China are contaminated.  I would stay away from anything using grain-based proteins, or companies who do not choose their own ingredients.   Your personal decision to not use commercial food is great, but if you're going to report a recall please keep it accurate.

    Right now...
NB said the venison and pea formula was the only affected product... Blue Buffalo said the same about their dry cat formula, I could name more. I'm not trying to be alarmist but look how this has been going so far. I won't feed anything from a brand that has had recalls on any of their products. Period. At least not for a long time.
