    Onion powder...HELP!

My dad made filet migneon tonight for dinner and he being the good granddad to furbabies sent some home with my daughter to give the dogs, she did.  It was about the size of a cookie but thick.  I remember from when I was a kid that dad always puts onion powder on his steaks, is this gonna hurt my dogs? What should I do?
    They both had the steak?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Probably there was a small amount on the steaks and it won't hurt them, but I honestly don't know. Here's a link on foods to avoid, check 'baby food'.

I did find on another link that "The toxic effect of the onions is the same whether the product is raw, cooked or dehydrated."

Thanks for the reply. Everyone seems fine so far, so I guess I just hope for it to continue.

That link says not to feed them many of the things people here feed on a daily basis.  I dont agree...

The problem with onion is that it can cause Heinz anemia....a mis-shaping of the actual blood cells, and interfer with calcium absorption.  The tiny bit that they might have gotten likely won't hurt them, but do remind dad to do the dogs, sans onions next time.

No problem not agreeing.  I think everyone has to decide what they think is best for their pets, I follow the list. [sm=happy.gif]
