    Help

I never knew the importance of good dog food before I joined this forum and I never knew how bad a lot of commercial dog food really is. I am looking for a good dog food for my dogs now and I am hoping for some suggestions. They are on a dry diet now with some lean chicken or beef at dinner. I would love to get them away from having fresh meat everyday and just have them on a well balanced dog food with the occasional fresh meat.

Bo is a 19 month old APBT and he is at a healthy 78lbs

Sadie and Ace are 12 weeks old and they are also APBT but based on the size of their parents I don't expect them to get over 45-50lbs. They weigh 16-17 lbs now.

Any good suggestions that are easy to find and not super expensive would be great because I really want what is best for them.

Canidae is one of the less expensive brands that works great for us! I've seen lots of others suggest it, also. Another less expensive brand that is often recommended is Chicken Soup For The Dog Lovers Soul.

I personally don't think you can beat Canidae for quality/price. Of course that depends on pricing in your area. Here the Canidae All Life Stages is ~$29.99/40 lbs and 468 kcal/cup. Chicken Soup is ~$27.99/35 lbs and 336 kcal/cup, so it's not quite as good of a deal. Canidae ALS protein/fat/minerals are at good levels for adults and puppies too, so you don't have to worry about a separate puppy food.

Thanks! Canidae sounds like a great choice for us so I am going to go ahead and try them on that. Now that we just got Tyson (aka Mannie) I am hoping that he will like that too. He is on Nutro right now but I don't want to feed seperate foods with 4 dogs to feed and from what I have been reading Canidae is a better food anyways. Thanks for the help.
