Turkey?

    Turkey?

We've always fed a little chicken with Dweezil's kibble dinner. Unseasoned, of course, and only a little bit. My dad cooked an entire turkey the other night, but before he began the roast, he boiled one whole thigh, and cut it up into small portions just like we do the chicken, to freeze, then heat up before feeding. I don't recall hearing anything about turkey being bad ... I fed one portion to her tonight. Anything?

If your dog's not allergic, it's fine! Just be careful about how much fat/skin you give at a time. I think some turkey as a supplement to your dog's regular diet would be a tasty treat. (No cooked bones though, of course.)

Nope, no bones. [:)] We boil then separate the meat from the bones and then portion in small portions into ziplocks so that we feed the same amount every night. So, now, rotating turkey and chicken. Dweezil loves it! And she still eats the kibble plain in the morning. With all this recall stuff though, I worry that maybe I should think about homecooking completely ... thank goodness we've been on Natural Balance for a couple months. I'd be going crazy about now. Plus, the last time we fed wet Nutro was like March of last year. Still, scary scary stuff.

Ditto above, if there is no allergy to turkey, it is fine.  Mater of fact, i know a few people who eat turkey instead of beef , pork and chicken becasue of allergies.  i hvae turkey bacon in my ref. right now because i like the low fat and it does taste good.  My dogs only get turkey twice a year--a little at thanksiving and a little at Christmas and they love it.  Maybe it is a thought to buy legs and cook them from time to time for the dogs.

I had some extra ground turkey last week that was going to spoil if I didn't do something with it.  I browned it up and Winston loved it!
