"Dirty Jobs" making/processing of fish meal

Did anybody see the episode last night (could have been a re-run) of how they make fish meal for pet foods?  I thought it was rather interesting, lol.

Darn it......I love that show, but last night I was wiped out, I had to go to bed early.
Did they show in detail what they toss in there?

They did show that the fish used (in this case a mixture of Menhaden and something else--looked to be some other similar bait fish).  They tossed them all into a grinder where everything was ground up (omg it looked nasty! lol).  They then took it to the processing plant where all the bones were removed and it was cleaned through some filtering system.  They then seperated the oils from it and packaged them seperately, and took out some blood to make blood meal fertilizers.  After the fitering system they dehydrated it into a meal.  The meal was then air-tight packaged to "preserve freshness" and then shipped to whoever.  Pretty good if you ask me.

Alright, sounds good to me, too...............at least we have a witness.........[;)]

Did they say why they take the bone out? I guess it would lower the protein and increase the ash. It's funny they reduce the blood content, never thought of my fish meal being low in blood.

My BCs do best on food with fish meal rather high up - I'd love to see the show. Maybe I can find a repeat and get my sister to tape it.
