anyone tried "Paul Newman's Organic Pet Food?

My Gizmo loves this canned food but It has a "canned tuna like" smell
and I just noticed that he has a B.O., His tears smells awful and saliva
stinks too. Is it the food or is it because he as an ear infection? ( he is on meds for it right now)

recurrent ear infections are often caused by reactions to something in the diet. I think Paul's foods are amazingly grain heavy and very likely to trigger food allergies in susceptible dogs.

I love a lot of the Paul Newman stuff but not his pet food. It annoys me that they charge so much for a food that is not that great compared to Natura, Pinnacle, Nature's Variety, Canidae - the list of less expensive foods goes on and on. And his fellow celeb (Van Patton) produces similiarly priced food but highly targeted.

This is the line that has the "Irish Stew", right?  The guy where I buy my food and supplies said it's manufactured in the same factroy that does the Dinty Moore Stews.  Anyway, I gave Mick some, but each time I did, he ended up with diarehhea. It's the only canned food that happened with.

No, the canned edibles are Natural BAlance and unless they've changed the formulas on those since I checked last, those are gross. Yes, tey are just like human canned foods and that's not a GOOD thing. [:'(]

"Everything good" isn't really a specific or helpful goal. What do you and your dog need from a food? We've all got different expectations - I need lots of energy and I've got a couple of dogs with special needs. Is your dog big or small, a particular age group, sensitive to certain things, or picky? Do you prefer canned or kibble? Do you have personal goals like feeding all organic or avoiding a certain food product? Some breeds do better on certain foods across the board - do you have friends with the same breed who have gotten good results from a food you'd like to try?

My dog was being fed Newman's Own Organic (dry) for a while and despised it. Once I learned a little more about dog food and looked at the ingredients, I didn't like it so much either. Tons of grains, not so much meat, low protein (not ideal for small dogs)... if your dog is a really picky eater like mine, Royal Canin has worked really well for me and I've heard many others recommend Bil-Jac. If your dog is just normal-picky, and not I'd-rather-starve-to-death-before-eating-that-junk picky, a lot of people here seem to like Canidae, Solid Gold, and Timberwolf Organics, too. I've fed the solid gold wet food which my dog also really enjoyed and seemed to do quite well on.
