Orijen

    Orijen

After researching Orijen for a while I decided to try it out. The factors I really liked were antibiotic and hormone free "freerange" chicken, no grain, and cooked at a low temperature.   So earlier today I bought a bag of Orijen Adult Dog, and Orijen Cat.  My partner and I live with our 2 dogs & 7 cats. I love Innova to bits but I live in Canada and wanted to support a brand more local.
My dogs and cats went nuts for the Innova/Orijen mix at supper. My finicky husky ran to her den and sat waiting for her supper.  This came as a shock to me seeing as she's very stubborn, independent and fussy about food.  I was just curious if anyone else had tried it out, and what their results have been. I'll keep you posted on mine.   [linkhttp://www.championpetfoods.com/orijen/about/]http://www.championpetfoods.com/orijen/about/[/link]

I've heard many great things about Orijen pet foods.  I can hardly wait until it becomes available in my part of Canada...I'm definately going to try it out.[:D]

Oh hey can you give me a rundown on prices?  My pet store owner, has decided to get in Acana, which is made by the same company.  She's gonna sell it for about $45 for a 40 pound bag.  Orijen sounds like a step up from there, but I think I'll stick with the Acana if there is a significant price difference.  However as Canidae is currently costing me $85 for a 40pound bag, anything less than that would be an improvement.  Especially since the protien in Orijen is min 40% which should mean feeding less...

violan, I was thinking the same thing...I couldn't imagine Canidae being $85.00!!!  We have our Canidae shipped to the Maritimes from Ontario and a 40lb bag is $53.99...possibly the most cost effienct dog food available besides Holistic Blend.

Yup it costs $85 after taxes for a 40lb bag of Canidae.  So far I only know of 2 places that sell it here, one on either side of the city, so that may be why they can price it so high.

The lady that owns the place where my friend gets EP doesn't carry Canidae or Innova, so I haven't been buying from her, but if she gets one of these foods in I think I will.  The store I get my food from also sells EP but it costs more there.

huskymom, I wonder if there is anywhere on line you could order that would save you money.  That's a lot of dog biscuits to pay out for a bag of food.

A raw food diet also would be more cost efficient[;)
