    Suggestions Please???

I have a 1 year old and an 8 year old.  Until we got the 1 year old I had been feeding Scruffy, my 8 year old, senior food.  Ideally I would like to get them on the same food.  It would just make things cheaper and easier.  Occasionally Scruffy has a little hip problem.  That's why I feed her the senior food.  Dash is on regular adult food.  If I could get them on something really good and balanced I could get them on the same thing.  Scruffy is on Nutro Ultra for Seniors and Dash is new to our family and has been eating Bil Jac.  I had thought of just keeping them both on Nutro Ultra for adults and suplimenting Scruffy with vitamins.  I am sure they could both do with something better.  Neither one of them is particularly pickey.  Any suggestions??

I think you could possably get away with both on the same food but you would have to suppliment your older dog with what your missing by taking away the senior food. With a hip problem you might consider something like glucosamine or go the holistic approace. However, buying the extra suppliments and feeding the same food might not be much of a differnce in price when you compair it to buying seperate foods.

When I had two dogs one was on weight control and the other on lg dog joint support, no way I could feed them the same thing so I had to settle on buying two differnt foods. I say whatever works the best for your dog then buy that. I'm so very poor right now (college stold all my money) but when it comes to my dogs health and nutrition I don't care one bit about spending the extra to make shure she has everything she needs. If you skip out on nutrion now you'll be paying for it later when your dog is even older.
