    Dog Food Coupons ...

Awhile back someone posted a link for free dog food.  I filled out the request form and in the mail today I got a coupon for a 5 lb. bag of Nutro dog food AND  a 5 lb. bag of Nutro cat food.  So tomorrow I'm going to go to Pet-Co and pick them up and head off to the shelter with them on Monday. [:)]

That's sounds great, so nice of you.  I'm sure the dogs will appreciate it.  I actually just bought a 15 lb bag myself and gave it to the SPCA today.  There is a pet store right at the end of the same street with everything from holistic to beneful.  But, for the shelter I try to stay with Nutro or something like that.

    Mine came today, too!

I'll use the dog one for the shelter, but Trixie eats their Natural Choice Indoor Kitten.

That's so sweet. I wish I had some Ol Roy to donate. Normally, I just give them cash and let them get whatever their needing. We're going to gather up old comforters and towels to give to them for bedding, one day. If I could, I would volunteer time. They do take on volunteers, unpaid assistants who get personal satisfaction out of helping. The Sherman Animal Shelter has a 7 day pts schedule. A pet has approx 7 days to be adopted before euthanasia. The hard part for me would be to not bring home more pets. I do have a budget. We're going to schedule very soon a spay for Jade, which will cost $90, which is not bad. But, at that shelter, in our rural county of rednecks you will find, pure and mixed Sibes. What's even worse is that $44 covers the adoption, vacc, and s/n at a supporting vet. That is, it costs less, mostly, to adopt from the shelter than it did to pick Jade up off of the street, literally. As it turns out, I have heard that there is a breeder of Sibes in the little town just west of me. All they have is a blinking yellow light at a state highway. I could see a bubba buying a cute puppy 'cause they saw "Snow Dogs" or "8 Below" and when the dog gets to be a year old and doesn't act like their old Yellow Lab, off to the shelter, if they'll even spend that gas.

I've rambled, sorry. But I think it's great when any of us can do something to help out those in need.

When I got a sample of NV raw instincts, it said "Did your pet love this??" then it gave the web address to go to and I filled out some info and got a free 5 lb. bag of NV food.
If anyone wants the web address, I can PM it...

They can use towels and bedding for pet bedding and whatnot. With cash or donations, they can also get those pet beds that stand a few inches off of the floor, allowing a cooling effect. Our local shelter will also take pet carriers, if you have one to donate. They can use those for animal pick-ups and seizures.

Does anyone have a link, i would love to donate some food to the shelter near my house.  The pet supplies plus awhile back had some promotion for beneful, so  i bought a bad for them then-i know that beneful is not that great though!

I just remembered that I filled out a form to get that coupon and it's still not here.... I wonder if it'll ever make it. [&:]

I really like donating to the shelters too. I collect stuff for them and when I have a grocery bag or two full I take it in. They get any dog foods that don't work out here, samples the I get here and there, toys that aren't Gingerbread's favorites, treats, old blankets, towels, brushes, collars, leashes, etc. I'm just glad that it can go to good use and help the animals. I like to go around petting and giving all the dogs treats when I'm there too. It's always hard though because every time I'm there, I want to bring at least 1 or 5 home. lol It was soooo much worse when I worked at a shelter!!!

I was talking about the Nutro coupon, but I'd like to get the Nature's Variety coupon too. I just noticed that one! Could you PM me with the address?
