    Easy human recipie suggestions?

What are some good recipes that are easy to make with ingredients that you can find anywhere? I have the hardest time following some recipes because they call for stuff I can only buy in the city. In my little middle of no where town I'm limited to just the basics when it comes to making stuff.

One of my friends made this cheesecake that was divine and ridiculously easy, you can find the recepie on the web just type Sopapilla cheesecake in google. It looks a little sketchy with the cresent rolls but it is DIVINE!!!! Also ingredients you could get anywhere and only takes 30 min.

    Hope you like it :)

i just made this the other night.

shrimp fettuccini alfredo. i don't really care for steamed/boiled shrimp but this stuff was good. you can sub it with chicken or even broccoli!!

    ingredients:
    1 T butter
    1/2 C half/half
    3/4 C parmesean cheese
    pasta
    cooked chicken, cooked shrimp, broccoli

put into a bowl for at least 30 mins to get room temp:
1/2  cup   half and half, or heavy cream or whiping cream
    1 Tablespoon butter

prepare the pasta ( i used egg noodles as I did not have any fettuccini)

after pasta is cooked drain and put back into the pot.

throw in the half and half with butter and 3/4 cup  parmesean cheese and add the chicken,, shrimp or broccoli or all three!!!

    bon appetit!

i just thought of another easy one i make all of the time.

get the cheapest cut of bottom/round steak you can find.

brown it for 5 min on each side in some hot olive oil (this keeps the juices in)

then add a can of crushed tomatoes or stewed tomatoes and some sliced onions and keep this at a low low simmer covered for about an hour. you may have to add water periodically

the meat just falls apart and it is cheap with only 3 ingredients.

serve it with rice and it is yummy!!

Zebby...is the store by you and actual "grocery store" or is it just a small hole in the wall mini market?

Like can you get fresh meats and a decent assortment of canned foods and produce?

I may have a few ideas for you but I want to make sure they are appropriate first![;)

We live on a small caribbean island...we have grocery stores but they have LIMITED stuff. My husband is a celiac (no grains-like the dogs!), our good friend is a veg and the boss is dairy free.....try having all them over for dinner! ("heres your broccoli")

but seriously, my husband is a chef, and let me know what kind of foods interest you and i can certainly help. ethnic? comfort foods? meat? veg? breads? desserts?

if you live out in the country you have the HUGE advantage of having FRESH foods, if not exotic ingredients.

the other night for a dinner party we mashed up scallions, garlic, fresh basil, and course salt. rubbed into boneless chicken. baked fro a LITTLE bit to "set" it and finished it on the grill.

served with cherry tomatoes (sprinkled with sea salt and GOOD olive oil) roasted in t oven until soft.

    easy! helathy! SIMPLE ! FRESH!

    a couple other tips:

Donna Hay, the aussie Martha Stewart, but WAY better!

Also if you shop at all online, buy AWESOME olive oil...it can make or break a dish, it ships well and will last awhile.

and find SEA SALT...it is less chemically tasting.
