DH just came from the small pet supply shop where we buy Ruby's food (and a whole lot of other things for her!). The owner told him she learned today there was an oven fire at an Orijen plant that would affect the availability of their food. She said they'll be producing at only 40% of their normal capacity, and therefore it could be March before she's able to order the quantity she normally buys.
He didn't ask her for more details (i.e., is this affecting her only because she's a very small shop who orders in smaller quanities, or because she's in a certain region of the country, etc.). I did a quick Google search, but didn't see anything. Has anyone else heard similar news? We'll have to talk to her again the next time we stop in.
We'll be researching some alternatives, so we can be prepared with Plan B if we can't get our usual supply in the coming months. I hope it's not an issue, because Ruby does really well on their line of foods!
