    Kirkland

Hi guys...just a question...I've seen people mention Kirkland on this forum...but my friend just asked me what I thought about it.  I have no clue...I do not go to Cosco to begin with if that is their food as she says.  Right now she is feeding RC prescription because her dog has pancratitits..... the fat content is 5%.   She saw Kirkland and read the ingredients and whichever formula it is....only thing I know its first ingredient is chicken meal.    The fat content is 7% so it is up from the 5% she is getting now.... not sure about that part..but wondering in general if people here are feeding Kirkland or not.

No experience personally, but am interested in this thread.  I also recall a couple of people mentioning that's what they feed with good results.

Ditto what Lisa said. I am also interested to see what people think. So far, I have heard good things about it.

I can't feed it to Bugsy due to his allergies but I have only heard very good things about it.  In some places they even have a grain-free version, ours does not. Ours carries a lamb version, puppy, healthy weight formula and a chicken based formula

Gee thats a great photo of Bugsy Karen!  It looks so BIG and rich.

Kestrel gets Kirkland kibble one meal/day.  It's a good midrange food - not the highest end, but certainly better than many foods - and you can't beat the price for the quality.  We pay $25/40lbs!

Our cat also eats Kirkland - he has never done better, and he is notorious for digestive issues. Smile

I've heard nothing but good about it.  But I believe it's manufactured by Diamond.  That would make me hesitant to feed it.

We feed it.  I mix the healthy weight with the chicken for our pancreatitis dog.  Any less fat and he eats our house, literally.  It's a balance to get him enough to not be hungry constantly with his medical issues.  I've not had a problem with it, and the one time we thought his illness was maybe due to the food, they took back a 75% full bag, full refund and put me in contact with the manufacturer and their "vet" the next day.  Love Costco customer service :)

It is made by diamond..... I consider it to be about the same as chicken soup, without 4 different protein sources and cheaper.  We've used it since around the recalls of 2008, since I remember their canned food being on the recall list.

I say, your friend could give it a go and always return it if it doesn't work out.  I would of course go slow to monitor the fat increase.

THIS IS PUPPY FORMULA, We also use Lamb & Rice For our GSD.

No problems at all, I wish I had the bag so I could take a pic to post of it

Our neighbors use the adult formula. They have a shep/rott/chow mix and a golden retriever. They have beautiful coats, happy and sassy and their stools aren't too bad.. firm, bigger than THK or Raw stools that I'm used to.

But the dogs are doing great.  This was my recommendation for them to get their humans to stop feeding Kibbles N Bits.  Bleh.
