Well I don't need to buy dog food for the next month

For Sandy. A friend dropped off some deer and moose meat today and he's promised some fresh rabbit meat. WEE! On top of that, I still have chicken wings, turkey necks, beef kidneys, ground beef and beef heart for Maze.  I'm gonna try and add some fresh meat to Maze diet but she doesn't like the bone so I may have to get some ground meat for her.

Can you just grind up some of the venison or moose for Maze?

    Oh you lucky duck!!

I've got some pre-ground moose I'm gonna try her on. She loved the venison but won't pull it off the bone. Lol! She's the most daintiest dog I've ever met!

Oh!! And I've got another 10 plus pounds of Moose coming later!! *dances*

Wow--what a great gift to get all that meat! Yeah!! Maze just likes dinner served, thank you very much :-) Silly girl!

Sorry I was wrong!! All 30lbs of meat was for the dogs! *dies in shock* In 2 weeks I've gotten over 45lbs of meat for free.. Thank god for the new freezer!!!!

And I'm thinking of switching Maze over to home cooked now that I have all the cooking utensils and a crap load of meat. LOL

I wish I was a hunter, it's moose season now. I keep reminding everyone that I have a freezer.... Smile

I hope the donated meat is MEAT and not hide/gristle. I had a guide who gave me what he said was moose meat for the dogs, but it turned out to be nothing but gristle. I can't figure out why people think dogs could live on garbage like that. I boiled it up and made a good, nutritious broth and threw the gristle away. Now I have containers in the freezer marked "Moose Soup." I can thaw it out, warm it up and make their kibble really, really yummy.

Why wouldn't it be okay for you to eat the meat? Too hairy?

Wow Jean! Long time no see! Lol

The moose meat I was given is full roast chunks with the soup bone left in. I could probably eat it but it's been left in the freezer since last hunting season. The hunter was just gonna throw it out.  Thankfully none of the meat chunks have fur. Lol.
