Raw feeding a pup?

    Raw feeding a pup?

I will be bringing my puppy home next week when he will be 8 weeks old. He is a Weimaraner.

I would like to feed him raw. But I don't know if that would be the best choice. I've noticed several of you feed raw. Do you start your dog as puppies or when their full grown?

    Thanks for the info.

I have no idea about raw feeding, but can't wait for pics of your new grey baby!

I wouldn't, unless I had a nutritionist on speed dial. I'm nervous like that, especially about a large breed puppy of somewhat questionable parentage (this is the rescued mamma, right?). You don't know about the joint issues behind the dogs, so doing your best to prevent them is important.

    Same here.

I raw feed my adult dogs.  When I got a puppy, at the end of last year, I opted to feed her kibble as her primary meals because I am not 110% sure that I would be able to feed her a appropriately balanced raw diet.  I would much prefer feed her kibble while she is a puppy, & then switching her to raw as she matures.  I do feed her some raw, but she's not a "raw dog" yet.
