    Spots Stew

Other than being HORRIBLY overpriced... what are your thoughts? Dog food, dry and canned

    • Gold Top Dog

     Sellouts.

That's all I've got, LOL. Sorry:(

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way - they were ALL ABOUT how awesome canned food was, and then they came out with a dry line, ROFL.

From my understanding, the company changed hands. But, what do I know? Still sellouts.

Didn't Ellen DeGeneres become a partner? I mean, if I remember, I wasn't horrified by the ingredients, but I tend to look at the end where stupid rosemary tries to hide out.

It used to be different. I worked at a health food store, for a while, and the rep came in, popped open a can, and started eating it, LOL. That's how it got on the shelves. They only had one formula, and it was only cans. Ancient dogfood history, I know. Solid Gold only had one formula, TOO! I'm a girl who hates change, so all the "new" and "improved" stuff really annoys me, especially when they SELL OUT.

ok, so aside from the company... what about the FOOD. ingredient wise, quality wise...

anyone with anything to say about the food?

Aesop has eaten the dry food in the past. Salmon formula, if I remember correctly. He enjoyed it and did fine on it for the two bags he ate.  There was a sale, which put it in the not horridly overpriced range.

I would not, and have not paid for any. The plant where they make it is very close to me, and we get some donated to the shelter every now and then. Since we don't feed it there, I'd rather not see it go to 'waste' with wildlife groups... I grabbed a bag for the foster pup, and she's done really well on it. We got in some adult, so I thought of trying Casey on it, just for some variety (I, of course, would pay the shelter for it)
