Good food for high ph in urine

Lately Dee Dee has had very high urine ph. It is running about 8. She is on the Purina Veterinary diet kibble and takes two 400 uroeze a day. For some reason the ph is not coming down. This morning the Dr suggested that we switch her food to the Royal Canine and see what happens but I have heard bad things about this food. She has had struvite stones in the past and had to have surgery to remove them. Right now there are no crystals or blood in her urine which is good. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am getting really worried about this and am wondering what to do next? Are there tests that I should ask about?  In the past we have tried the Solid Gold Berry balance but got no results from it and at the time she was eating Solid Gold food.  I really want to get her on a good quality food and get this straightened out.  I am scared there is something wrong going on and we don't know about it or that this can lead to something going wrong.  Any good food suggestions that help with this?  Thanks!

I went through a few bouts of struvites/crystals in the urine with my bichon girls. The science diet CD is made to produce a urine ph of 6.3 yo 6.4. I called up several dog food companies and as I recall, Bil-Jac select produces 6.4 and PetGuard produces 6.2-6.4. Along with water added to the kibble and some extra protein (meat topper) for my girls, they were able to get rid of the struvites. Has her urine been cultured to see if there is anything in there? If there is infection, the pH will stay high and she will need a good course of antibiotics.

Orijen's website states that their foods produce a pH of around 5.5--which is pretty much the most acidic I could find.  And its a great high quality food too.

Luna's can get high sometimes too. We've had great luck with Orijen. I have to read more about Juvenile Renal Dysplasia in Aussies and talk to my vet to see if that could be playing a role in kidney health/issues.

Do you guys use Keytone strips to test their urine? I purchased some, but haven't used one yet. Do you just hold it under their urine stream?

I have the pH paper tape, I just cut off about3" and then gently use scotch tape and tape the strip right above their vulvas, so the pee hits it when it comes out.  They don't even notice that the strip is there.

Then when they come in, I remove it and check it against the chart. :) Easy peasy.
