When to switch to adult food?

When to switch to adult food?

Finn is about 9 months.  He is still only about 33 pounds.  He has gained maybe 5 pounds since I got him at the end of May.  I wasn't sure if smaller breed dogs switch to adult foods earlier or how important it is to stay on puppy food for a while longer.

    Thanks.

As soon as Kes came home with me at 14-16 weeks he was put on an "all life stages" food.  Our vet highly suggests that instead of the high octane puppy foods for most dogs.  I'll also start feeding him formulas labelled for maintenance soon (he's 12 mo now).

I started him on Taste of the Wild which he didn't do well on (lots of gas and soft stools).  So we are on Blue Buffalo now.  And since I have 2 seniors, an adult, and a puppy, that means 3 kinds of foods.  I'm just really anxious to switch to an adult formula so I'm only buying 2 foods.  I also work part time at petsmart and their best food is BB, so it is worth it money wise.

Tootsie, was put on an ALS stages food at 12 weeks at that time I was feeding 3 dogs, so much easier.

I don't know exactly when I switched Luke, but a little before 6 months. I bought him puppy food when I first got him, and once that bag was finished, he got adult food.

I honestly, don't feed my pups the puppy foods. They all get adult BB.

I never fed Ena puppy food. Emma ate one bag, and it made her a pudge muffin.
