Probiocin?

    Probiocin?

I'm coming out of lurk mode to ask a question Wink

Does anyone else use this probiotic (Probiocin)?

Monty's vet recommended it, and it really seems to be helping (Monty has intermittent episodes of colitis).  The Probiocin we got at the vet's is the gel, but I was wondering if the Tabs would do just as well.  Also, does it hurt to give him this probiotic everyday, on a regular basis?

    Thanks! Smile

Though I do not use this actual product, I do give a probiotic supplement on a daily basis.  I have a dog with IBD and a probiotic every day keeps his gut flora in balance.  With Monty's colitis, I would use a probiotic for him, daily, as well.  There is no harm in using a probiotic every day, only benefit, especially for a dog with G-I problems.

And, yes, the tablets would work just as well as the gel, and might just be more convenient to use.

Typically my vet tells me to switch probiotics every few months just on general principles.  You don't want an overgrowth of one particular thing or another.  Forti-floria is from a vet and a good one.  I also use several others.

    Thanks for the advice!

Monty really does seem to be doing much better on probiotics. Smile

Well my vet doesn't believe probiotics work.  I give my dog Probios that I buy at the pet store.  If I can't get the others that were mentioned from the vet, where can I find them?  Probios works good, but if it is best that I rotate occasionally, then I will.
