Great news. Happy to her that all is going so well.

I'm so glad that Jessie is improving.  I'm sure she looks forward to your coming to visit...and I'm sure she knows that you will be taking her home soon!  Really good news to hear this evening.

I haven't posted on this thread, but I have been thinking about you and Jessie.  I'm soooo happy to hear about her improvements.

Here's hoping she gets to come home soon!!

    (((hugs)))

Jessie's coming home this afternoon. Her pulse-ox has been normal yesterday and today without any oxygen and she's been off her IV fluids too. We have to take her out on a leash to potty in the yard and she won't be going for walks. She goes next week for more x-rays to make sure her collapsed lung has completely healed, then she'll be able to resume a more normal activity level.

Lori; the house really isn't the same without her. She always runs out to greet DH when he comes home from work, lays on my feet when I'm sitting in the front room; we really miss her.

Thalie; get ready for some ground shaking. Hope all your breakable objects are secure.Wink

I've been thinking of something Callie has said when you think your dog may not be well; go with your gut. Jessie did not have clear cut signs of this being an emergency; she was breathing a little harder than normal but not struggling for breath. She was tired but still got up to drink and to ask to go outside. But we know our girl and she has always recovered quickly from anesthesia so we were concerned. When they took x-rays at Purdue, both lungs had pneumonia and her left lung had collapsed; the E-vet was really surprised. So, go with your gut is always great advice. I've got to run; thanks again for your great support.

Janice - I have no idea how I've missed this thread up until now but I was so glad to get to the end and read how good Jessie's doing and that she's coming home today. I know this time must've been so stressful for you and I know you'll do a huge happy dance when she's back home. Yay, I'm so excited for you.

     wow I can't believe I missed this!!

I am soooooooooooooooooo happy she is going home today Big Smile

Doing the happy dance for all of you!!

YAY, Jessie!!  Hope she's not too disappointed that she cannot go for walks yet.

And, I agree, go with your instincts if you feel something is "off" with your pet.  Willow had no symptoms but had a serious blood problem.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. She's doing great; back to her old self.Big Smile When I went to get her, Matt took me to a room and then brought Jessie in. Dr. Meeler came in a little later and Jessie flopped down and rolled over for a belly rub, and Dr.Meeler gave her one. Jessie trained her well.Wink

She is acting like herself again. This morning DH got up and fed her at her usual time, 5 A.M., then went back to bed. Usually she gets walked after her breakfast and she came into our room a little later to remind us. She's been playing with her toys this morning, running around the house and tossing them in the air. We may have to hide them. DH has been working in the yard and she always goes with him to "help". She's been waiting by the door and doesn't understand why she can't go with him. Sad

Karen, I was thinking of Bugsy; it must be hard to keep him quiet. She goes back on Monday for x-rays to monitor her progress; maybe then she'll be allowed to do more. You all rock; thanks so much for your support.

Aw, Jesse.  I'm sorry you can't help dad with the yard work but it's so wonderful that you feel so good!  Big Smile  I'm so happy she's home and doing so well.

Jessie -- sometimes Dads just need a little reminder of how much they DO need your help!!  Glad you are on the mend!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Aaaw, Jessie, you'll be able to go back out there soon. It is great you are home doing so good and we'll keep fingers and paws crossed for clear X-rays tomorrow.

How scarey this had to be for you.  and when she really gets to feeling gret she will probasbly want to exercise a little harder than she should and have to be watched.

I have not been around here for a few months--so much vision problem.s  Can't read paper, books, etc any more, had to give up driivntg as I I can't see well enough to tell if the car in front puts on brakes, can't tell if traffic lights is red or green til I am right on it.  Have to use magnifying glass to even read screen of computer, so just don't do much that involves any small print.
