Jessie's coming home this afternoon. Her pulse-ox has been normal yesterday and today without any oxygen and she's been off her IV fluids too. We have to take her out on a leash to potty in the yard and she won't be going for walks. She goes next week for more x-rays to make sure her collapsed lung has completely healed, then she'll be able to resume a more normal activity level.
Lori; the house really isn't the same without her. She always runs out to greet DH when he comes home from work, lays on my feet when I'm sitting in the front room; we really miss her.
Thalie; get ready for some ground shaking. Hope all your breakable objects are secure.
I've been thinking of something Callie has said when you think your dog may not be well; go with your gut. Jessie did not have clear cut signs of this being an emergency; she was breathing a little harder than normal but not struggling for breath. She was tired but still got up to drink and to ask to go outside. But we know our girl and she has always recovered quickly from anesthesia so we were concerned. When they took x-rays at Purdue, both lungs had pneumonia and her left lung had collapsed; the E-vet was really surprised. So, go with your gut is always great advice. I've got to run; thanks again for your great support.
