recovery time

I think Bella ought to be fine.  Checked the stitches this morning and all is well still. 
 
She weighs only about 26lbs. 
 
Today is the first day neither of us will be home, so she's being crated all day except for the lunch break when I go home to let her out and walk her for 15-20 minutes.  Then I'll crate her again for another 3 hours.  She should get more rest toward recovery. 
 
Tomorrow, we're going to let her go to the bathroom on her own without a leash.  The vet said 4 days should be enough for that.  Then, Monday or Tuesday we're going to give her reign of the backyard while we watch her some to see how she does.

Yea I know about Danes being pretty much more prone to having the incision opening up.  It's be almost 2 weeks since she has been spayed.  She was never left unsupervised outside, and if she tried to jump, which she loves to do, I caught her right away and stopped it.  Even after almost 2 weeks I am still trying to keep her calmer than her usual Great Dane puppy self and still check her incision to make sure it is healing properly.  I just didn't want to keep her all locked up when you could see she wanted to go out with the other dogs and play.  So after a week I let her out for some well supervised play, but was still very aware that she wasn't all healed up and still not able to jump and run as much as before the spay. 

What about lounging outside?  Our pup loves to just sit in the shade of the yard and watch other dogs or people do their thing.  Is 7 days going to be long enough that if she is in the yard, dirt and other things can't cause problems?  I guess I'm trying to get a handle on when the wound is to the point where outside elements can't really penetrate the wound vs. when the wound is not prone to rupturing?

7th day lounging should be fine as  long as  there are no games  like running back and forth along a fence to "keep up with the Jones type" 

After the 10 days, she'll be able to do running, jumping, etc.? 

after 10 days jake was completely healed and i took out the stitches.

Update...
 
It has been 4 1/2 days since Bella was spayed.  The stiches look fine with no abnormalities visible. 
 
She is COMPLETELY back to her old self, jumping all over the place sometimes.  We try calming her, but she is chomping at the bit to go outside and play with her neighbor dog friends.  Any time we go out to use the restroom, she cries because she wants off the leash to play. 
 
What is the soonest a dog can recover from this?  The vet said at 4th day, we can let her go to the bathroom on her own in the yard.  But I am fairly certain that will include a little running/jumping.  Since we're past the critical 72 hour mark, is it safe to let her roam on her own?
 
Some friends said they let their dogs go back to normal life after 4 or 5 days and they were fine.  The running, jumping, playing didn't bother anything.
 
Is it something I can take her to the vet for them to confirm that she's fine, or will they give me the typical "wait another week" response?

The stitches you can SEE might look fine, but what about those on the inside that you can't see?  Those are the ones I worry about.  I'd wait another week honestly.

i would wait another 3 days  minimum before you let your dog start to run around.  she might be acting like herself but she still isnt healed enough for it to be safe.

no reason to not unless she feels uncomfortable and then it will be self limiting...but should do fine with playing etc
