Marley went in this morning!

Here is an update--and thanks everyone for the encouragement and advice! I've never gone through this with a dog before. Growing up we had an intact beagle, he was neutered when I was in college because he was growing tumors on his rear.

Anyway, Marley seems fine. I did not try to clean the incision. I just kept putting the spray the vet gave me on it. The incision itself does not look good to me, because the first day it looked nice and clean and straight...now it has been through a lot so it doesn't look as straight and clean. He is still very swollen and red too. So, I don't know.

He is beginning to be a menace again, so that's a good sign. Hopefully, he'll be able to go for a walk soon.

Shadow's incision looked a little crinkly after a while with dried blood clots. And they went away and the incision started to reduce. I don't think I could find it now. The sac stays swollen for a while, even up to a week, then slowly starts to reduce to pretty much nothing. Shadow's stitches were dissovable.

The return of the menace is a good sign.

That's exactly what it looks like Ron! Thank you. I feel better about it now!

Marley is feeling better...he got all excited when I put on my shoes to go and work out! I think he was expecting a walk. He will get his staples out toward the end of the week.

Thanks to everyone for your support through this! I think I would be overly worried without all of you[:)].

It sounds like he's doing just fine. But I could understand your concern.

    Happy days ahead.

Ron wanted an update...so here it is!

The staples came out yesterday...Marley is completely back to normal. I think we are both glad that we do not have to deal with the e-collar anymore! I am going to take him down to the beach this weekend to do a little body surfing.

Thanks everyone for your support through this. I appreciate it.[:)]

[sm=dance.gif] - Woo-hoo, so glad that Marley's feeling like his old self again and I'm sure you are too.  He's going to love playing at the beach this weekend.

Yesssss, I am so happy for him and you that all those worries are behind you. Marley will have a blast this weekend.

Hurrah for both of you. For Marley for being brave and for you being brave, too.
