Scientifically backed effect of neutering...

    Thanks Jennie! [:D]

Actually, it is STILL appropriate.  His "thing" is called a penis.
    • Gold Top Dog
thats great, but to come on here and post just saying it over and over is not appropriate, and is actually very immature.  excuse the crap out of me for not knowing how to talk about it on a dog  :p
do you really have a problem me calling it a "thing".  get over it.

thank you vettech06 for providing me with valid information on the subject.
    • Gold Top Dog
    Ok folks,
Keep it to the topic, we all know what body parts are called and there's no reason to cause an up roar over it
    • Gold Top Dog
JMHO, but what I find immature are the dozens of ways around saying "penis"....red rocket, lipstick, it thing, pp,  etc.  "It" is a bodypart just like a foot or a tail and yeah, as grown ups we should all be able to use the proper words.
    • Gold Top Dog
I just said "penis" for Glenda. It's not like penis is a dirty word or something.

I agree that calling it his "thing" is far less mature than saying penis.
    • Gold Top Dog
And I only came to thank Jennie.
    • Gold Top Dog
good grief it really bothers you that much?  sad.  i never said its a dirty word.  like i said, i didnt know the same terminology is used for dogs as humans.  get over it already.
    • Gold Top Dog
First me, now Jennie needs to get over something?  Get over what?  Preferring to use the proper words to identify body parts?  We are ADULTS and we really don't need to use cutsie little words for the real thing.
    • Gold Top Dog
glenmar i already told you my reason for using what you refer to as a "cutesy word"  why do you feel the need to harrass me over this?
    • Gold Top Dog
Jaye, I'm past the cutesy words.  However telling people to "get over it" is rude.  I'm done here.
    • Gold Top Dog
so is attacking me for using said word

    • Gold Top Dog
Nobody attacked anybody til you started telling people to get over it.

A foot is a foot. An ear is an ear. A liver is a liver. Why wouldn't a penis be a penis?

To help get back on target, my little neutered boy has no lack of energy and is not fat because of being neutered.  He'd be fat if I let him eat whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, but then again so would I if I didn't resist the chocolate!!!  :)

And his penis extends at certain times as well.  I would imagine a larger dog or heavier(fat) dog may have more instances of this in a relaxed state because it IS a bone that pushes out and pressure may result from surrounding tissues/muscles.

The penis is the male organ used for urination and sexual intercourse. It is made of spongy tissue and blood vessels. The shaft of the penis surrounds the urethra and is connected to the pubic bone. The foreskin covers the head (glans) of the penis.

Where does anyone come up with a BONE in the penis?  It isn't there.

And yes, even a nuetered dog CAN have an erection.
    • Gold Top Dog
Dogs, cows and some other animals have a bone in the penis.  Humans do not.  I don't think I can do a search on those terms (bone penis dog) here at work so it will have to wait.  But that's what a bully stick is.  It's the bone from a cow penis.  Maybe it's not a bone but hard cartilage?  But I'm pretty sure it's a bone.
