Mast Cell Tumor & Benadryl

It sounds like Jazzy is doing really well.  That is great news.  Poor thing, they look so pitiful when shaved for surgery--my one golden retriever has had both knees operated on and had the entire leg up to middle of back shaved  each time.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Jazzie. Floyd had a problem with MCT and got three of them in a two week period. He had the stitches from the first surgery removed while he had the second surgery. They were all Grade II. He was so demoralized from back to back surgery that, if he'd kept getting them, putting him to sleep might have been the best option for him.

We consulted with a holtistic vet. In addition to a good diet, she prescribed Transfer Factor and CAS Options. If you are interested in them you can find either through a Google search.

Whatever the combination of factors, Floyd has had no more since 12/05. We are very pleased.

Best of luck containing this lousy affliction.

"Canine CAS Options provides a nutritionally concentrated synergistic blend of Reishi, Maitake and Shiitake mushrooms, which are well researched and have been shown in numerous studies to be potent immune enhancers. The proteoglycans and polysaccharides from mushrooms have been shown to nutritionally assist the immune system, reduce inflammation and can stimulate natural killer (NK) and T-helper cell activity. Additionally, this formula includes strong antioxidants found in Coenzyme Q-10, Green Tea and Selenium."

Thanks for posting those. I was in a bit of a hurry. Floyd takes the Canine Transfer Factor as it also has some other things such as probiotics that the human version does not.

I'm impressed enough with the Transfer Factor that I started my other two dogs on it. One on Canine and one on human (he has mild kidney issues and the canine contains some phosphorus & calcim). Because they are technically seniors, I've also splurged for an additional vet visit with the holistic vet each year.
