Inflammable Bowel Disease

Your vet did a biopsy, correct? If the dog had IBD, then the biopsy would have shown the inflammatory infiltrates that are classically associated with IBD. What did your biopsy results show?

Yes we went to the referral center for ultrasound, showing thickened intestinal lining and enlarged lymph nodes around those intestinal areas.  Then endoscopy with stomach and intestinal biopsies. Stomach showed god-awful Heliobacter infection, we just completed a 3 wk course of abx, pepcid and flagyl for that. Intestinal biopsies showed moderate [on a scale of mild, moderate, severe] lymphoplasmacytic enteritis with primary dx as canine chronic imflammatory bowel disease. That's what our lab printout reads, word for word in bold print.

Maya has colitis, was diagnosed last year, she'll be six in feb. Maya and Houston both have allergies to many things, so, our search for the right food for many reasons was rather long. We have been feeding Timberwolf organics for about  nine months or more. We couldn't use the chicken, tukey stuff and they did well on the ocean blue but the fat% for Maya was too high, I do also give them salmon oil, so we are now on TWO Blackforest, it's venison and she is doing fantastic on it, she hasn't had any problems in months. Just wanted to share how weve been handeling it, hope it helps! Hope your baby feels better soon[;)]
