Willow needs her friends advice again

EDITED TO SAY---I get out the doggie wipes and wipe her mouth, mane and legs after bully sticks. And, I use just a damp paper towel after each meal that I'm around for. Chows tend to get everything but the kitchen sink stuck in their mane.

Doggie wipes is a really good idea Lori...I will have to pick some up.  [:D]

I may try the NB trout formula at some point in the future.
I tried the NB Venison and brown rice and JJ had such an insane allergic reaction to it I was afraid to try any of their other formulas.  [:o]

Then I put him on the Pinnacle duck and he did great (minus the pudding poop) and I tried their trout and sweet potato one and he seemed to have a reaction to that too.  [&o]

Right now I have been trying to transition them onto TWO ocean blue from the bison but once I hit over 50% ocean…I get pudding poop again.  SO for now I think the Bison is the way to go!

I really think NB is a great product for allergy dogs and I am glad it is working for Miss Willow. [:D]

Ooo. . .you might be in luck. . .it's not trout, it's salmon, salmon meal and menhaden fish meal.

Do you think the TWO just has too much stuff in it for them?  I know just by looking at that list of ingredients that Willow wouldn't be able to handle it.  I'm not saying they are bad ingredients just a lot of different things.

Oh good…they seem to do pretty well on salmon!  They might be Ok then on the NB fish formula.

As far as the TWO ingredients…I don#%92t think it is all the ingredients in it because they have never done as well as they do on the Dakota Bison. We tried the elk which has IDENTICAL ingredients except that it uses elk instead of bison. It even has the same amount of protein, fat…etc.  They did horrible on it (pudding poop) and I could not transition them.  SO I really think it is the protein source.

The ocean problems might be because of the lack of grains. Maybe their systems need a little grain to do better. They actually have fantastic poop if I give them less than a 50/50 combo of ocean to bison.

I feel very fortunate to have tried the bison first because honestly the 3 that I really wanted to try were the elk, ocean and bison.  I just decided to try bison first but if I had tried the elk like I was originally going to, then I don#%92t think I would have tried the other formulas. AND heaven forbid I tried the elk, then the ocean…I would have never tried it ever again thinking that there was “something” in all that mix of ingredients that their bodies were reacting to.

It was dumb luck that I picked the bison first.
SO you never know, Willow might do HORRIBLE or she might do great.  I think though that if she is doing good on the NB and she likes it that you have found a winner!
