Nail clipping woes

My puppy used to get really nervous when I clipped her nails, now she is getting better about it [:)] I have someone sit on the floor and hold her while I clip them ( even though this is the first time I've had to clip my dogs' nails, I haven't cut her even once [:)]) and she does pretty good. However, one of my friends has a Lab puppy ( about 8 months old) that is really terrified about getting her nails clipped. They have tried to have different people hold her but she always wiggles out of it, and they get scratches on their arms because her nails are too long and they can't get clipped! The puppy doesn't like her feet being touched at all now, so they are trying to work with that. But does anyone have any advice about what to do with a dog that gets really scared?? My friend says that they have to have her sedated to get them done. Maybe they should take her to a groomer? I would imagine that even the groomer would have a problem with it, though. So any adivce for her would be appreciated [:)]

Zoe doesn't care for having her nails done either.  I admit, I have cut to far a couple of times, always the black ones, it seems they grow slower than the white ones.  Could be my imagination too.[8|]
Last time I tried giving her treats to see if that would be better for her, and she refused them until after we were done!  Silly dog![:D]
