And you can't call yourself a groomer until you've tried to clean the mud and stains off a very shaggy large white pony who spent the last two weeks soaking herself in good black mud.
My that was a nasty come back. I was trying to have fun when I posted a picture of Dilon.
mudpuppy we have horses as well, and yes they will roll and they are brushed out...but, they don't live in the house and sleep in the bed.
My cousin also had a white shaggy pony when we were kids...and yes, they brushed the horses out...but, they also ran a hose over the horses and bathed them as well. She brushed her muddy pony out many times after rolling....so, she would have more qaulifications to be a groomer than most groomers around here...hmmmm, it's a shame she would make them look like mess.
So, there must be a lot of groomers out there who havent had the chance to brush out a large shaggy pony to finish grooming school...I never knew it was in the criteria of grooming school[

] lol
So, instead of bathing our Newf when he got muddy you would have let dry and brushed out....????[8|] just to add that where I live we have high humity by the ocean (5 minutes away), plus the mud has a clay base in it up here. You would have to let the Newf dry for 3 days outside before you even attempted to brush the dog out...it would take that long to dry. Then it's caked through the coat and the brushing not so pleasant. Trust me, we get many dogs in for grooming that are muddy...and you certainly would NOT be a groomer if you just brushed it out without bathing the dog. It's much more humane to just bath the dog and get the mud out...plus, a groomer who owns their own shop would not be much of a groomer if they didn't try to clean their dog up properly.
