Billy - the mystery deepens (Callie)

So glad to hear that nothing major showed up, but fingers and paws crossed that they find whatever is causing it soon. Billy, you need to quit scaring your mom and dad like that.  You don't need to go all the way to the vet for treats - I'm sure your mom has plenty at home. Smile

Heckfire, Joyce -- I don't even have to wait fur Billy to answer that one!!  YOU'RE no fun!!!

The fact of the matter is, Mr. Perfect has cultivated his reputation so the entire world WILL gasp and cry "OHHHH It's BILLY --- HE LOVES to get treats after we take blood!!"

He just loves all the adulation!  I swear ... the dog should have his own fan club!! LOL

He does, it's called iDog :)

Seriously Billy, hope you get all sorted out soon, but good for you for going to Mom so she knew something was wrong.

Callie ((hugs)) I hope it can be figured out soon, how has he been doing since the collapse?  Pass along some rubbins from me and the gang (and throw in a few for a special pug & bagel too!)

I hope it can be figured out soon, how has he been doing since the collapse?

We've seen him stumble just a bit - I talked to Dr. Bailey (reg vet) and if he's still iffy Dr. B will meet us up at his practice on Saturday morning.  He's also got an appt with Dr D (acupuncture/TCVM) Tuesday  -- so am hoping we can begin to unravel this.

We've known for a month SOMETHING is going on -- the blood work keeps getting a bit better (like he's had more bloodwork in the last month -- like 3 or 4 panels/partial panels) but there is something out there - I just hope it's not serious.

Good thoughts going Billy's way! I sure hope that you either find it or no more weirdness happens!  I know what it's like to not have a "reason" for stuff.

This really is a mystery! What do you think it could be? Have you noticed any other irregular behavior from him? How old is he?

Billy's almost 11 and he's the most intensely vetted dog I've ever had.  Billy has a HUGE history -- 4 1/2 years ago he had IMHA (immune-mediated hemolytic anemia) so honestly?  If this dog snorts wrong he's at the vet.  That's a bit of an exaggeration but he gets acupuncture, homeopathy and all sorts of other stuff to help maintain what we've fought so hard to gain back.  He HAS heart issues (he's got a grade 3-4 murmur that appeared out of the blue just after he got off all the big drugs post-IMHA) and he's super sensitive to even environmental toxins so even neuro stuff like micro-seizures aren't out of the realm of possible.

Right now we collectively "ain't gotta clue" (and I mean me, my husband, and five vets in four different practices *sigh*).  But we'll figger it out.  But right now he's being "watched" -- which makes me laugh cos he always IS "watched".

WTH?????   What am I missing here??  I'm so glad he's doing good now but it'll be nice to find out what this is.  It's the worse if it becomes something undiagnosable...then you'll always be wondering.

By the sounds of things you're covering all the angles.  Cardiologist???

Billy....sending you LOTS of get well vibes and prayers.  Don't be scaring mommy like that!

*HUGS JON*  Glad to see ya!!

He just had his 6-month heart work-up 2 1/2 weeks ago (they do an EEG over the phone and it's sent up to U of FL and the vet there gets on the phone with my vet right then - VERY cool).  His heart hasn't deteriorated - we're doing REALLY well there (he still doesn't have to be on any heart meds at all despite 3 years of this danged big heart murmur).  It really didn't look like he fainted.  Nor did it honestly look like a seizure of any sort.  I'm still hedging my bets on a neural thing tho but it's minimal hopefully.

The fact that his gut has been upset for a while and he's just not quite acting "Billy" is why I pushed the heart work-up to when I did.  He's had three blood panels in about 3  weeks (the first went to Dr. Dodds) -- his liver values were a *bit* high and we've got that mostly resolved.  But then this is a dog whose liver gets ticked off even with someone down the street spraying THEIR yard.

I'm thinking - because of a small 'hot spot' I'm feeling on the spine that he's got something irritating a nerve and am *hoping* that's it.

We are still thinking of you both Callie and hoping you can get to the bottom of this soon.

Lori -- thank you SO much.  I worked all day (DAvid's turn to be home) -- he was all a-wag when I got home and now there are soft snores all around me (3 dogs & their Dad??)

He's truly been good this week -- so not much for Dr. Bailey TO see so I didn't schedule anything for today (and I *had* to work) -- will see Dr. DiNatale (holistic vet) on Tuesday evening and I'm hoping I can pick her brain.

Sending our positive thoughts and good energy. Billy, we hope you continue to feel better!

How did it go at the vet with Billy?

Ditto.  Hoping that you (& Billy) at least found some answers.

Dr D is more than willing to bet the Baytril is causing some weirdness -- it could very well be causing the gastric distress ... other than that, no answers.  But I am ***watching***!!!!!!
