Tear Stain Cure?

    Tear Stain Cure?

I'm not sure if this should be in grooming or health, but does anyone have any experience with using Tylan for tear stains?

I have a 3 yr old maltese who has a terrible staining problem. I was reading on a maltese forum that Tylan, the antibiotic in Angel Eyes is an economical alternative. I read many accounts of complete and permanant success after three weeks of treatment.

In all of Baileys pictures I have photoshopped out the stains lol, and now I'm excited about getting rid of them for real.

I did a search here, but  there is nothing about Tylan being used for tear stains.

I've heard nothing BUT good about Tylan. There's no doubt that it works. I haven't heard whether it's permanent or not, but it's the only thing I reccommend for the dogs I groom.... Angel Eyes is on the shelf, for good, and it's the only thing I know of that *really* works.

I actually used the Angel's Eyes product after my tzu developed staining following a course of antibiotics.(He had never had a problem with staining before the antibiotic).  I used the product for 10 days, and was very pleased with the results.

He has not devleoped any further staining since the treatment and it has been nearly a year.

Keep in mind that any previously stained hair will remain so until you cut it off (it is not a dye), but any new hair growth should be stain free.

We also used Angel's Eyes after a course of anti-biotics caused terrible staining. It worked great and they loved the taste. I found the best price on Amazon. It does take a little while and you need to use it every day and be sure to cut off the stained hair as new, stain-free, hair grows in.
