    What can it be?

It happened yesterday after I dremmeled his nails. My dog (8 years old beagle mix) stopped using his left hind leg. I checked the paw, everything looked normal. I hoped the problem would resolve on its own by the morning, but it did not. The dog does not put his toes on the ground and basically can't walk. It's hard for him to use only 3 legs when walking. Plus he is overweight.

What can it be? Please help!

dogs that do not bear weight on their limbs should be seen by a vet....so that'd be my advice along with crate rest until the vet can be contacted.

Absolutely what Gina said ... he may have pulled oddly while you were dremeling them, or he simply may think one of them is too close.  But because the risk of a pinched nerve is there, I would see a vet ASAP if he's refusing to bear weight on that leg.

    Thank you , guys.

My vet doesn't work on Mondays and Tuesdays. I made an oppointment with another vet which is close to my home.

Do you think it can be luxating patella? I am worried sick.

Hi Delta; Welcome to the forum;Big Smile  My vet said when dremmeling it's important not to dremmel a nail very long because the friction causes heat and can injure the nail. Please forgive me if you already know this, but do you go back and forth between nails to avoid building up too much heat? Other than that, I agree with the others about seeing the vet.
