    Need some advice..

This spot just showed up on Maze's inner thigh. She doesn't chew it or seem bothered by it in any way but it looks nasty and red. I was thinking about putting something on it like Polysporn or something.. Hmmmm Any ideas? It's not fleas or anything like that. I check her everynight and she gets treated with Revolution.

    Help! Please! Lol.

My first line of action with something like this is to guess contact dermatitis , I LOVE Sulfadene an oil based sufa solution that treats skin issues so beautifully. About 5.00 for an 8 oz bottle I buy mine at Wal MArt and I would think you could go on eline and order it through tmhem or google Sulfadene and find a location close to you.  Sponge it on with cotton balls, taste nasty and is a wonder for smallish ( under a 2x4";) size space.

Using a polysporin etc is good IF you have an infection, this is not an infection it is an inflamation ie a dermatitis , anything from  a rash brought on by fleas, ants, environmental contact with herbacides, pestacides, or even laundry detergents....   You need to first soothe by using an oil based anything,  Then reduce inflamation and potential infection and sulfur is awesome for this.  I also love antihistamine sprays , benedryl etc  a few spritzs and a benedryl am and pm if it is allegry related this will go a long way towards telling you and controlling it.

I would see if the area is actually rashy -- tiny bumps?  Or just sore?

This time of year contact allergy is so easy -- poison ivy, poison oak, wandering jew (do you have that in a house plant?)  -- Sulfadene will work, polysporine would be ok (altho she'll probably lick that) -- do you have an aloe plant or can you get hold of a leaf??  I can tell you how to harvest the goo from inside of it and it is a MARVELOUS thing for any sort of inflammation.

OT, but I didn't know that other people didn't know that aloe comes from a LEAF. Duh, where'd ya think it comes from? You people buy aloe from a store?! ~L~

Sorry, no idea about Maze. I hope she feels better soon tho!

No plants or anything like that in the house. I don't have an aloe plant (yet!) but I'll take a look around the plant stores here and see if I can find one. I'll let you know, Callie, when I get it so you can teach me the wonders of harvesting Aloe gel! Lol.

It does have tiny bumps on it and she has been chewing as there's dried blood but it's not bugging her REALLY badly.

I'll buy some of that Benedryl spray and try that on her. Thanks for the help!
