YAY! Artist makes it to the Final Two! (Groomer Has It)

I'm so happy Artist is in the finals!!!  He kicked butt and did a much better job handstripping on his first try than Jonathan did after bragging that he was experienced doing it and butchered the poor dog!  Then he tries to impress the judges and say that he chose a dog with a challenging coat on purpose, PUHLEASE!!!

I SO HOPE Artist wins, he really deserves it, he gives every challenge his all with a great, positive attitude and isn't snooty and snobby like Jonathan.  Let Jonathan go back to NYC and be snooty, I want Artist to win!!!!

Fingers, toes and paws crossed here!

I hope Artist wins too. I think he did a great job grooming that dog. I know I couldnt have done that good of a job the very first time. Looks like they will be grooming a bunch of fogs the last episode. Too bad it's the last one.

That dog didn't have just a challenging coat, it had the best coat. It could have looked better, but 2 hours is seriously NOT much time to hand strip a dog. I hate that stupid judge that's a vet. She doesn't know anything about grooming.

he butchered the dog? arent we exaggerating a little? i think the main reason artist won is b/c it was his first time, not necessarily b/c he did better than jonathon. all of the dogs actually looked pretty good, and all three of them did a pretty good job. the judges were harder on jonathon b/c he had done it before, and it wasnt as perfect as jonathon typically sells himself to be. so instead of actually judging everyone on the same standards, they kind of made a different standard for everyone. it really was a tough decision, and i do agree with it. but i dont think its fair to say jonathon did anything but a good job as well.

Yayz, Go artist! Wow I was kinda angry about Jorge getting the boot, I would rather him and Artist be in the final two the Jonathan. Blah, I cant wait for the next season after this. :P

I stand by my opinion.  The dog's coat had visible spots all through it and you could tell he'd broken guard hairs just by looking at it.  The dog had no dark fur left.  I've seen enough hand stripped terriers to know he did a lousy job.  Artist broke guard hairs also, but his end result looked more smooth and even.  I don't think they use different standards, I think Artist's dog looked the best and it DID NOT have bare spots as mentioned to both of the others.  Jorge's dog didn't look stripped enough, there was still too much undercoat visible and Jonathan's looked like he'd stripped it down to the skin.  And it DID NOT need a take down as he tried to use as an excuse from the beginning.   His dog looked the best from the start.  Which is why he chose it.  I think he's an excellent groomer and has excelled through most of the challenges.  Artist has had to learn on the fly and eat some humble pie along the way.   I want Artist to win because he's got more heart in his little finger than Jonathan has in that whole swollen head of his.

Really, none of us had a hand on any of the dogs. That makes a HUGE difference.

I thought they were judged on a dramatically different standard. I've hand stripped terriers. Not many, and not often, but I've done it. It's hard work, and the end result is something beautiful. It's not something you figure out in one dog, and I agree that, for the first time, Artist did an incredible job. Comparing dog to dog, though, I thought Jonathan's dog looked better. Of course, his dog had what I thought (without laying hands on it!) was a better coat to begin with.
