Jezzy's sick, question regarding fasting in small dogs

Jezzy woke me early this morning wanting to go out - to eat grass. Pees and poops are normal (though she did poop twice this morning which isn't normal). You can hear her little tummy just gurgling. She won't eat her breakfast and she just through up the few string bean 'beans' I managed to coax her to eat, plus the grass. Took about 5 attempts of upchucking for her to get it all out - the bile was yellow and there wasn't anything from last nights dinner in it.

Usually when she has these episodes, I can get her to eat string beans instead of grass and it settles her tummy down and she'll eat her breakfast - not today. Since she threw up I was thinking about fasting her, but I'm worried about it since she is so small (6.5 lbs). I made some chamomile tea and syringed about 10 ml into her since she won't drink it. I'm hoping that will help calm her tummy.

I hit my mom up for some chicken broth since I'm out. The little stinker won't eat for me - even Katie's NB duck and tator that she usually tries to snitch when we are over there. She did eat a few bites for Mom though, so at least she has had something since dinner last night (@19 hrs ago). I'm going to make up some rice and boiled beef in the chicken broth and see if she'll eat that for me.

But what is the usual fasting time frame for small dogs? Though she's been 19 hours since she last ate...one reason I am worried about low blood sugar.

Why don't you try overly boiled white rice and chicken baby food?  Nice and bland.  I'm not big on fasting a long time -- some dogs do well with it and some don't.  Just overcook that rich to MUSH --

Well, she finally ate. I was cooking the rice mush and tried playing a game with the NB Duck and Potato and she actually ate some. I felt a lot better after she did  - as she did I am sure. Poor babies tummy could be heard across the room! She ate dinner last night and this morning's breakfast with no coaxing. I hate it when she feels bad!
