breath smells like urine

i'm not sure whats it is but recently in the past few days her breath started to smell like urine.... i'm not sure what it is should i bring her to the vet? the only thing that i changed was her food(natural balance veg)

There are a variety of illnesses that may change the way the breath smells. It could be the food change, but it wouldn't hurt to have her checked out and some labs drawn.

well i finally found out it was because she is allergic to the potato in Natural balance Veg....i am so frustrated i have a 30lb bag that i paid $50 for and now i have to go out and spend another $50....what should i do with the old food?

ask some friends if it's what they use, you can sell/give it to them. Or you can donate it to your local shelter - they always need food. Even if they can't use it for their dogs, they can give it to homeless shelters or wildlife rehabbers.

Are you sure this is the problem?? How did you come to this conclusion?

The uric smell to the breath can be indicative of a renal problem and I would really be SURE that you are definately dealing with a food allergy before you make a final conclusion. Testing should be done to make SURE the kidneys are functioning properly.

Man, I just would be really leary of the assumption of a food allergy with this symptom.
