    Please help :(

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted.

Yesterday morning, I had my 7 month old Shih Tzu neutered and his umbilical hernia fixed by his vet.  I think I called every hour to check up on him and they said he was doing just fine.

When I picked him up a few hours later, he was wagging his tail happy to see me.  The vet gave me some discharge papers and told me I have to bring him back to get the stitches taken out later.  He said Cocoa was nauseated after waking up so to feed him a light meal tonight and regular food tomorrow.

Well, last night I boiled white rice in chicken broth but he didn't eat or drink all night.  He just wanted to sleep.  I tried several times, he wound up taking a bite of the rice but put his head down to go back to sleep.  He went outside to go to the bathroom and walked around just fine..

But, last night when I put him in his crate with his little bed I could tell he was terribly uncomfortable last night, I was up pretty much all night checking on him.  He was rapidly (to the point of where I thought he might knock the crate over) changing positions and when I peered into the crate he would just look at me.

I'm sitting on the couch with him now, he's lying on his side next to me.  I just feel so distraught and I'm not sure what to do.  I'll try in a little while to see if he'll have some water but if he won't I'll take him back to the vet.

By the way, my fiance just came out here as I was typing this and Cocoa is licking his hands.  So cute. [:)]

Whew, update.  I made him some of his favorite canned wet food and he ate it and had some water.  I also gave him a treat, too.  Maybe he was just too tired yesterday?

Sometimes the anesthesia can make them feel nausia so as long as he's eating and acting normal the next day, I wouldn't worry too much

I know I don't eat when I feel nauseated. As a general rule I don't worry when my kids skip a meal or two
