Princess got hurt :(

Wow, it looks like from their pictures Princess would the one to take on Copper! Just goes to show you can't sterotype! Hope she is okay! Tookey sends her kisses from another picked-upon pooch!

Well came back from the emergency vet waste of time and money, I mean all she did was clean it and I have to bring Princess back in the morning because they need to knock Princess out to close the hole and she needs help, $210 just for tonight. The vet said she thinks it might be from the fence, Princess usually tried to jump it but she's been good the past couple of weeks I guess she tried not sure.
 
My dogs have a routine when running outside they all go to this one tree they race to it and usually Copper will go after who ever is next to him, I'm guessing to slow them down, I've seen Copper go after Princess while running to the tree.  Vet couldn't really tell but said probably the fence guess it's back to just walking Princess just when I thought I could trust her alone outside this happens []
 
I didn't wanna leave Princess at the vets over night all alone she's never been by herself since I got her and she's never been in a cage so I didn't feel right, well off to bed for me gotta take my baby back at 9am

Copper looks like a Corgi mix. He's probably trying to herd them.

This is one of the many reasons I crate train my dogs. I can take them anywhere, say "kennel", and they go in, lay down, and go to sleep. They know that kennels are a safe place to be, and they won't be disturbed. They're happy as clams in their dens.

I hope Princess's wound heals quickly.

Not sure what Copper is trying to do when they race to the tree, I don't think Copper could take a big chunk out of Princess and I looked all over the fence can't see how the fence did that to her either vet was not sure what could of happened I sure hope no one around my neighborhood did this to her, I know across the street from me there are 2 houses that I would look at first my father came by to look at it last night and he swears someone had to do that to her he said it kind of looked like a big hook mark. All I know is I better not find out someone did that to my dog. (I'll be in jail, if I ever found that out.)
 
Took her back to the vet this morning she was home by the afternoon they stitched it up and she has a drain in it, I have to keep an eye out on it because the vet said from last night it was a little infected, but that she did good. I'm gonna call back tomorrow tho was just looking at the meds and two of the meds are the same but just one is 250mg and the other is 500mg seems out to have the same meds but just different mg's

If the medication that you have two prescriptions for is Cephalexin, it is not unusual to dispense it that way depending on the size of the dog. A big dog would need approximately 750mg twice daily and it only comes in 250mg and 500mg. Therefore a dog would need one 250mg and one 500mg twice daily. This antibiotic is commonly dispensed for lacerations.

havn't read the other posts and this is just guess work but lots of times these lesions can be repaired under a local anesthetic, or some are better left open to drain...but either way it is not a big deal unless your pup is a real nut case and panics everytime at the vets...good luck

Princess gets her stitches out tomorrow, lol dvet Princess is a nervous reck when it comes to the vet, got her nearly 10 years ago  from an ad in the newspaper " Free pure black labs" everytime we wanted to see the puppies they always said at night so finally we went and she had 3 dogs 2 females and 1 male, the lady had the nerve to say only one dog came out pure black lab as if we we're stupid lol, but I picked the smallest out of the girls and got her home where we could see her in light she had scars on her stomach she was jumpy afraid of everything plastic bags she is still like that not as much little aggressive towards the other dogs now but still jumpy at certain things, thought she would out grow it but hasn't.
 
So tomorrow I will have to pull her close to the vets door then pick her large self up lol she's 74lbs not a light thing to pick up lol don't really like the job the vet did on her stitches 2 stitches popped out brung her in and they said oh its fine so anyway. At least she's doing better. 

How is Princess doing?

She is good thanks for asking, she got her stitches out on friday took her to the vet but I am a little worried when the guy came and took princess to the  back i notice something red on my pants and started looking around and there was blood looking vomit or stool on the floor now when we first walked in I didn't notice nothing on the floor when he came back out with princess I showed him and I said I'm not sure if Princess did that or not (think she did) he said when he first walked out he seen it, so he said if we see Princess doing that bring her back in
 
Haven't seen her do that so I don't know what is up.  This saturday going to take her to the humane society and have the heartworm test done, cheaper then the vets I don't know what it was or even if it came out of Princess but has me worried my sister's dogs died of heartworm and she said they were vomiting blood and also it was in their stool so I'm gonna have Princess tested for that again.
 
When Princess had this surgury done they took blood wonder if they can tell from that.hmm
