    Hind Legs are Shaking.

Well last night me and my sister noticed that our 2 year old dog Paris wouldnt come to us when we called her name. Normally she is all over the place, ready to play at anytime, so it was very strange that she wouldnt run at high speed towards us. So we started checking her legs and there was no pain. We checked her entire body for something that may have been hurting her but there was nothing... Yet when she walked, her Right hind leg would limp. We couldnt do anything about it, so we just sat with her for the night, and at one point she began to shake. After she woke up this morning, it seemed to have gotten better, but within 15 minutes she began to limp as much as last night, and about 30 minutes later, her hind leg began to shake, and now both hind legs are shaking.... we've already called the vet and the only opening is at 3:50pm, so i was hoping til then you guys can give me some insight on what this possibly could be.

(note that to our knowledge there was nothing that could have possibly hurt her, like any sort of fall or anything, so this is rather strange. Though after her bath she ran all around the house, like she normally does, and didnt seem hurt at all til about 1am in the morning, so i doubt it was something like her crashing into the wall since we would have seen her hurt hours before ...)

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Has she gotten into poison? Ran on a newly sprayed lawn? Something similar happened to my hound and luckily for me, the vets were well aware of this type of thing and got her right in.

She had pulled the poison in from newly sprayed fields--I didn't know they had been sprayed--and was very shaky and sore. The poinson was pulled up through her feet and into her system.

Best of luck to you. How is she today?

    Thanks for your reply.

Well looking at her now, i can see that her shaking has calmed a little, and she doesnt seem as stressed. Now she looks as if she is trying to go about her everyday activities, but her Right leg is still very very weak,  she can barely climb steps, can only slowly walk, and has trouble getting up from when lying down, so there is still something wrong...

I dont think it was poison, since yesturday we were entertaining guests so we didnt have the time to take her for her walk, so the only outside place she could have gone was our backyard, and there isnt anything poisonous there.

After further checking, ive found that there does actually seem to be some sort of pain. If i just touch her legs, or muscles she doesnt seem to experience any pain or discomfort, but if i put her hind leg close to her body, like how a dog's hind legs would be positioned if the dog were laying on its stomach, it seems to hurt her...

Hi....When you go to the vet if it were me I would have Xrays done to rule out Hip Dysplasia...You didn't say what kind of dog you have...Hope you're baby feels better soon

It could be a pinched nerve or anything -- DEFINITELY the vet and as soon as you can possibly get there.  The longer you wait the more the risk that any injury may be worsened.

YOu may not even have seen the injury happen -- dogs are very stoic ... they won't even SHOW pain unless it is beyond dealing with it.  But such stuff can even be caused by a spider bite that can be difficult to find.  The vet should be able to make a better determination but I would definitely expect some x-rays.

My dogs legs do that to but i think it is maybe just when she has trapped a nerve or is standing in an awrkward position

Among other things, hind leg weakness can also be a common sign of Addison's (and sometimes Cushing's). An ACTH Stimulation test would test for both of these.
