Have you had the vet examine the lumps? If they have pus they're infected. I have a dog with serious inhallant and food allergies and she's had various sores on her but not anything like you describe. Here's a link about skin problems in dogs ;  [linkhttp://addy.com/hicc/skindisorders.html]http://addy.com/hicc/skindisorders.html[/link] .    Table 1 describes symptoms of various skin diseases. If a dog investigates a rabbit burrow or a burrow of other rodents they can become infested with a type of fly larvae; the condition's called cuterebra infestation; the larva inhabit the head or neck of the dog and pus drains from the lump they cause;   [linkhttp://www.petplace.com/dogs/cuterebra-infestation-in-dogs/page1.aspx]http://www.petplace.com/dogs/cuterebra-infestation-in-dogs/page1.aspx[/link] .  I think you should have a vet take a look at your dog; good luck.

agree with Jessiesmom...TThey sound like pustules  in qa condition called pyoderma, ie if they are pus filled they probably are Stap Epidermis bacteri.a..get them checked before they go to the rest of the bodyy

germanshepherdfan; dvet is a vet and if he thinks it's staph epidermis bacteria that's probably what it is; a skin infection that can spread if untreated. Let us know what your vet says.

Does what your dog have possibly sound like this: [linkhttp://www.petplace.com/dogs/sebaceous-cysts-in-dogs/page1.aspx]http://www.petplace.com/dogs/sebaceous-cysts-in-dogs/page1.aspx[/link] ?

My GSD had one of these a few months ago and the vet said that they're pretty common.  It grew pretty big and one day he scratched it open and the cheesy material plus a little blood came out.  The vet put him on abx just in case of infection.

Definitely keep us updated on what your vet thinks it is!
