Big pat on the back (mine) from the Vet.

When I took him to the vets, she said, congratulations! This is the best I have seen the dogs skin ever!
Woohoo!!

I took him in for licking of his rear, and she said it is an allergic reaction that can't come thru the usual spots because of the conditioning of the skin I have been doing 2x daily in the leg joints and groin- YAY!!, so it is going to the next sensitive place, his rear

So the dog gets Preparation -H and we continue with:

Skin Sensitive SS Diet by Royal Canin
Nettles Leaf
Chineese Herbs
Oatmeal & Aloe Conditioner (1 pt/4pts water) sprayed on skin 2x daily.
2-4 Benadryl/day ( dept on skin condition, pollen index & durration of exposure to pollens)

A good regime to talk to your vet about for allergies if he/she is at their witts end and using steroids is not a solution you want to have to use.

Is this something you purchased or a mixture you prepared? Are you using a certain blend of chinese herbs? I'm interested in your success and very happy for you and your dog.

How is the SS diet working? I wonder why my vet never suggested that one to me. I just may try it--Jetta is miserable with scratching this summer[

Most vets use Science Diet, Eukanuba, or Purina perscription foods. It's great to see a vet recommended Royal Canin perscription food with good quality ingredients.

While RC is better than most of the others, it's really only a mid-grade food with a super premium pricetag. If you compare the ingredient list to Innova you'll see the difference, yet RC can cost MORE than Innova.

True, but for a perscription food, at least the vet is selling RC perscription and not Science Diet.
