dull coat

My GSD's coat looks dull. He eats either innova or canidae and takes 3 fish oil caplets and a vit E everyday. He gets an egg about twice a week as well. What else might help him? I think i have seen you all talk about Nupro before. If i remember correctly, it;s a joint supplement but helps skin and coat as well. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Is that him in your siggy? In the

icture he looks to have a good shiny coat, but it could be the way the picture is. I have a couple of training buddies who gives it to their dogs. That haven't complained about it.

the coat again is responsive to gentics but any oil or fat...bacon greese, ham fat, commercial products etc will help but if the coat is not geneicaly inclined to shine there is very little that can be done about it

Yeah, at the time the picture was taken he was very shiny! I don't know why it has dulled up so much in the past month...

Could he be getting ready to molt? I've found the coat will often become dull right before shedding heavily.

I wouldn't think you'd need any other supplements considering everything extra you have him on. If that's not doing it- I'd look at something besides diet as the cause.

I have a friend who's pit had a dull coat on Canidae. She found that Nature's Variety dry worked the best on her dog. She doesn't use any suppliments. Also, how often do you brush your dog? Obvious question, but some people really don't brush.
