    An alternative to revolution?

So far, we've been using Revolution to stave off ticks, fleas, heartworm, etc. It's been fine, so far, but I am beginning to feel uncomfortable with the fact that it, in essence, makes the dog's blood toxic to said parasites. Is that not harmful for the dog, as well?

If you look at the adverse reaction charts, Revolution is way up there in meds that provoke a lot of bad reactions.  Not only is it hard on the liver and other internal organs, but you never really can tell when the dose is 'worn off' before giving another.

For me and mine, Interceptor is a better choice for heartworm and I use Frontline for fleas (only as needed -- and I'm in Florida, and it's a bad flea/tick year).  Both of those meds tend to be more effective too.

The problem with Revolution for fleas is the flea has to BITE the dog to die.
