My 2 1/2 yr old Shih Tzu, Nemo, apparently had a stomachache Friday night, as he whimpered all night and first thing he wanted to do when we got up was go outside and eat grass. He ate a ton of it, then threw it all up. He then seemed better, but of of course very tired from no sleep and rested pretty much the rest of Saturday. He felt better I think Sat night as he ate a few bites of toast and a few treats. None of his food though. Then Sunday he felt fine, I thought, we took them out for a car ride. But yesterday and today he is dining on grass like it is a buffet! He seems to be ok, running, playing with his brother, Ziggy, and he will accept treats. But the amount of grass he is eating is amazing! Do you think he is just using grass as an "antacid" of sorts? My husband seemed to think he is getting allergies like our other Tzu, Ziggy, because the vomit was mucousy (sorry so graphic), so he urged me to give him an allergy pill today. Interestingly, both hubby and I are sick as well... hmm...
Any thoughts on these sudden grass eating episodes?
