Personally, I think "allergy" is vetspeak for "I don't have a clue."
Sorry Billy, but I disagree. It certainly doesn't hurt to upgrade to a better food or change to one with different ingredients than what the dog is being fed to see if that will help, but dogs really do have allergies to pollens like we do. [

] A good diet definitely helps the immune system and may be enough for many dogs without anything further, but when a dog is seriously allergic like Jessie, a good derm vet is a blessing. I'm glad switching food worked for your dog.[

Jaye, is it possible that your dog has a cold? If it's allergies your pup should also be itching; typical areas are the ears, face, "armpits" or where the front legs meet the body, and groin area.
