    please help

Shane, my 2 year old Chihuahua, woke me up this morning at 5 am, my feet were all wet...the threw up in the bed.  I got up to change the sheets and now I'm up and he's still heaving.  I took him out to go potty bc sometimes if he really has to go to the bathroom it'll upset his stomach and he'll throw up, and he went to the bathroom but he's still heaving so I don't think that was it.  Every two or three minutes he'll heave like he's about to throw up but nothing comes out like a person when we're dry heaving.
I feel so bad for my baby, I can tell he's not feeling well and he feels bad for messing up the sheets.

Is there anything I can do right now to try to make him feel better?  I know he ate some grass today so I'm sure that helped in him throwing up, I kinda want to wait it out and see if he's still sick in a couple hours or if it'll pass like it usually does before I take him to the vet.  But is there anything I can do for him in the meantime?  When do I come to the point where I have to take him to the vet?
    Thanks

I'd be calling the vet now.  With a tiny little dog like that, they can dehydrate so quick that I wouldn't take chances.  Please let us know how he's doing.

I agree with glenda, especially since you just woke up and have no idea what happened during the night.  He very well may have eaten something which got stuck in there, it's safest to go in.

Well he stopped heaving and he looks like he's feeling better and he's eating and drinking water like normal now.  I'm definitely going to keep my eye on him but I think he probably ate too much grass or just had an upset stomach for some reason.  If he starts acting weird or throws up again I'm definitely going to take him to the vet.  And as far as I know he only actually threw up once, although I know I can't know for sure since I was sleeping.
    Thanks for the advice.

Ok, I took him to the emergency vet.  All he wanted to do was sleep and =I could look in his eyes and tell he wasn't feeling very well and I just couldn't stand worrying that I was making a mistake not taking him.
So $400 later (ouch) here's the story.  He has some sort of blockage in his colon...basically he has a hard time pooping and there's quite a bit of feces in him which was upsetting his stomach hence the vomitting.  She said that we need to take him out more frequently and stand there and wait until he poops every time pretty much.  He needs to poop more often then he does.  She said that she put a little pressure on his tummy and it caused him some discomfort :( my poor baby.  She said due to the vomitting he was dehydrated and she gave him some fluids and an anti-nausea shot and said to keep him alone and confined today so he didn't get excited or play and cause him to throw up again, and to restrict food for 8 hours (when i finally gave him a little bit of food he acted like he was fine, he ate all i put down, even though it was only about 3/4 of a cup) and I can tell he still isn't feeling 100% himself, but he's feeling a lot better than he was earlier today.  She said that if he'd thrown up anymore today to bring him back in but luckily he never did.  I'm going to keep my eye on him tomorrow, then unfortunately on tuesday I'm going out of town but the hubby will keep an eye on him while I'm gone.

Glad you went to the vet. You can't take a chance, especially with dehydration. It happens fast with little ones. Make sure he is drinking. I hope he feels better very soon!!!
