Sad Update on UTI or Diabetes

I wanted to thank all the kind people who helped me thru my Lhasa's sickness...she went over the Rainbow Bridge today.  It was, indeed, diabetes - her blood sugar was over 550 and within 2 weeks she developed cataracts in both eyes and the vet said was close to being blind.  In addition, her liver was failing from the pred. shots she needed so she would not tear herself apart.

So...I knew in my heart it was time to let go - actually she was allergic to human dander so there was no cure for that.  We had her from a puppy for 6 years and she spent so much time at the vet her life that I know she is happy and itch free for the first time in 6 years.  This was really sudden (within a few weeks) so it will take awhile for my heart to heal.

We also have a greyhound who is very mopey and sad today - I guess she knows she lost a friend...as we all did by losing little Muffy.  Thanks for your support and good wishes...

    Sherry

I am so sorry to hear this.  The lost of a beloved pet is always so hard.  But you are right.  No longer is she itching and miserable.  Like my irish setter with bone cancer that i let go, she is whole and healthy and happy and what jore can we ask for our most loved companions, friends, furkids, buddies, whatever you opt to call them.

"...when the time comes, and the road curves ahead to a place we cannot see, we give one final gift and let them run on ahead, young and whole once more. "GOD SPEED, GOOD FRIEND," we say, "until our journey comes full circle and our paths cross again."" (The Journey)
