I will certainly stick around, and I really do thank all of you for your help.  Hopefully, I will have a happy, healthy dog waiting for me when I get home from work today.  I can't believe they'll need him at the office from 8 until 5ish!  Doesn't that seem like a long time??

Depends on WHEN they actually do the surgery.  They like to get surgeries out of the way first thing in the morning, but can have emergencies come in, or a simple surgery turns out to be not so simple.....and they want the dog to be FULLY out of the anesthesia and drinking a bit before they release them.  This is for the dogs safety.

Thanks again for all your kind thoughts and prayers, everyone. I am forever grateful that I had all of you to go to when I got into work a couple of days ago after first finding that lump.

I wanted to let you all know that I just got a voicemail from my mom and the vet's office called to say that Max got through the surgery OK and though he'll be in some pain for the next few days, he'll be ready to come home in a few hours. (so he should be there when I get home from work!)

Hopefully, with some TLC, he'll be back to his happy self in a few days.

This is good news and I know you are relieved.  My 11 year old golden had a tooth pulled when he had his dental a year ago--top tooth, very back.    My mouth has always been sore after  a dental, so I soaked his kibble until it got really soft, added more water, his meat and veggies and put it all in the blender and made him a "dog food shake" that he just had to lap up.  Did this for a couple of days.
