    Be Aware of this Disease

By posting this today, I am fulfilling my promise to my best friend, Brody. At 110lbs. of all american black lab, he was my heart and soul.  My heart broke Dec. 12 when I could do no more for him...except promise to let others know about the disease that took him. If you and your dogs hike wooded trails,  live in wooded neighborhoods or walk in city parks..be aware.  Lymes is a piece of cake compare to the tick borne disease Ehrlichiosis.  Many vets to not test for it and it can be cured if caught early. It presents itself in a wide range of symptoms, a ,limp, increased thirst,or simply not as active. Front line and tick collars are not 100% effective. Please research and be aware for the health of your dogs and for the love of Brody.....

    sma,

I, too, am very sorry about your loss and going thru such a difficult time now.  I wish we could have met you under better circumstances.  Please stay around, if you can.  Sometimes you just can't do anything else.  I am sure you did all that you could.  There seems to be just beginning a new awareness of this tick problem.  It appears to be a difficult disease to notice and to treat.  Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
